Full Marks for Innovation at Crosfields School
A Multiple Awards Winning Project

With the Architect (DMA) and Engineer (Engenuiti)

22nd November 2022, 6pm for 6.30pm start

AluK Design Studio, 5-11 Worship Street, London, EC2A 2BH

Crosfields ran an invited competition for their new senior school building. Their key requirements, besides meeting budget and programme, were that it should be sustainable, inclusive and welcoming, in keeping with the school’s ethos.

By taking a collaborative approach and embracing modern methods of construction, the team achieved an exemplar project across all assessment criteria. When the pandemic struck, the client prudently paused the programme for 3 months.

However, the team’s forward-thinking methodology proved to be the project’s lifeline. It enabled construction to be fast-tracked. This maintained the original programme. Off-site fabrication using CLT also mitigated the issues of labour and materials shortages brought about by COVID.

Join LCEC with the architect and engineer from the project - discover how they overcame the many challenges faced and delivered this award winning school.
